Hey guys,
I know it’s been a while, but I’m back with exciting news!
I’m leaping into entrepreneurship!
Yes yes! I’ve been blessed with time off from my normal job, so I’ve decided to jump full time into starting my first business! Here’s the plan:
Creating an online store
I’m starting an online store for women’s accessories. It’ll have small colorful items like watches and bracelets to help you polish everyday looks.
Why I’m doing this
Let’s start with what I’m not trying to do. I’m not trying to create the next billion-dollar company…
What I’ve figured out is that when just starting, aiming for the stars leaves me with half baked, coulda been awesome stuff. So instead of striving to become the next Facebook, I’m starting small and learning the basics.
Here’s a concrete list of what I want to discover:
How to market a brand
- There’s a right way to do social media marketing. And from what I’ve seen (and tried ;)), just posting pictures and adding a few tags won’t cut it ;). I think it might be worth the time to learn how to do this effectively.
How to hire for weaknesses
- There are parts of the business that I don’t have the skills for and I keep reminding myself that this is OK. Not knowing how to do something won’t break the business. It’s wasting time and not hiring the right people to help that does.
How to make the right decisions
- Lastly, there’s no formula for entrepreneurship. You can’t just watch what someone else does and copy it verbatim. I’ve got to be comfortable and confident in making decisions. As always, it’s progress not perfection.
Let’s see how this goes…
